The compliant! Abraham vs 2 …Abraham agreed with what Sarai
said. (6) your servant is in your hands
do what you think is best… 21: 5 Abraham was a hundred years old when his son
Isaac was born to him. 21: 14 Early
the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to
Hagar. He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She
went on her way and wandered in the Desert of Beersheba.
Point
2:
The complicated, irritant, irrational! Sarah vs 3 Sarah his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to
her husband to his wife (5) Then Sarah said you are responsible for the wrong I
am suffering…I put my servant in your arms know that she knows she is pregnant
she despises me. May the Lord judge between you and me.” 21: 10…Get rid of that
slave woman and her son
Point

her… (15) So Hagar bore Abram a son… 21: 18 Lift up the boy…
Hagar is a reminder of the person
who does what they are told.
Genesis 16: 7 The
angel of the Lord… (9) …the angel of the Lord… (11) The angel of the Lord… (13)
…she gave him the name the Lord had spoke to her… You are the God who sees me…
